THE SIGNAL premieres

In Jan 2006, three Atlanta directors and their band of crew set out to make a feature. Shortly after it's midnight screening at Sundance in 2007, it was picked up by Magnolia Pictures. This Friday, it will fill 200 screens across the country. The reviews have been great. Fan support has been awesome. For those who haven't heard - check out THE SIGNAL.

Feature Screening TONITE

This month in our feature screening series we are very excited to have Bret Wood and his indie feature Psychopathia Sexualis.

These indie features are for those filmmakers who are interested in taking the next step from shorts into features. Not only will we be screening local and national shorts but we will be having a intimate talk back with the filmmakers and producers who created these works. This film developed out of relationships built through Dailies projects, so stick around afterward to talk to Bret about his thoughts and experiences.

The story
Employing a complex multi-narrative structure, Psychopathia Sexualis dramatizes case histories of turn-of-the-century sexual deviance, drawn from the pages of Richard von Krafft-Ebing'snotorious medical text. Among the cases are a sexually repressed man who discovers an unhealthy appetite for blood; a homosexual man who submits himself to a doctor who promises to 'cure' his condition; and a masochist who hires a pair of corseted prostitutes to enact a most peculiar performance. In the final chapter, a woman who has spent her life suppressing her lesbian desires is hired to tutor a sexually curious young woman. These stories are bound together by the thread of an ambitious doctor who not only studies the patients, but uses them as pawns and playthings.
